DRDO hosted the 24th🇮🇳 🇺🇸 India-US Joint Technical Group (JTG) Plenary Meeting in New Delhi on 03-04 February 2026. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Chandrika Kaushik, Director General (Production Coordination & Services Interaction) DRDO and Hon. Michael Francis Dodd, Assistant Secretary of War for Critical Technologies, Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research & Engineering. The meeting reflected the shared commitment of India and the United States to strengthen defence science & technology cooperation, explore emerging technologies, and advance collaborative innovation in support of mutual security objectives. @indianembassyus @meaindia
DRDO is displaying tableau ‘Sagar Suraksha’ on theme Naval technologies for combat submarines at Bharat Parv 2026 at Red Fort, New Delhi. The tableau depicts the cutting edge Indigenous naval technologies including Air Independent Propulsion, Integrated Combat Suite & Wire Guided Heavy Weight Torpedo for Combat Submarines. The tableau is visited by large no of students and general public. Dr RV Haraprasad, DG(NS&M), DRDO along with team visited the tableau & Bharat Parv 2026 event.

Salvo launch of two Pralay Missile in quick succession from same launcher were successfully conducted today from ITR, Chandipur. The flight test was conducted as part of User evaluation trials. Both the missiles followed the intended trajectory meeting all flight objectives.

Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) Officer Trainees called on Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO at DRDO Bhawan today. Dr Kamat explained them vision and priorities of DRDO. During the interaction, Dr Mayank Dwivedi, DG (HR) and DG (R&M), Shri Vedveer Arya, Addl. FA & JS, Dr Vandana Kumar, Sr. Jt. CGDA, Shri Sangeet, IFA(R&D) and Shri Pranjal Verma, Sr Dy IFA (R&D) were also present.
Defence Geoinformatics Research Laboratory(DGRE), DRDO is hosting a capacity building National Workshop on “Weather and Climate Forecasting over Indian Himalaya: Tools, Trends and Technologies(HimMet-2025)” in collaboration with National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt of India from 08–10 Dec 2025 Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary DD R&D & Chairman DRDO virtually inaugurated the event today in presence of Guest of honour Dr U K Singh, DS & DG(Solider Support Systems), DRDO and Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, DG India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dr P K Satyawali, Director DGRE During his inaugural address, Dr Kamat praised the organisers to take up such an important focus area for the workshop. He further emphasized in translating the scientific outcomes to operational products & services for the vulnerable communities in Himalaya. Dr U K Singh during his keynotes address urged the scientific community to avoid working in silos and explore collaborative efforts for the enhancement of weather management in crucial Himalayan region. Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra during his address to Scientific community highlighted the complexities and challenges of weather and climate forecasting for Himalayan Region and presented a detailed account of recent extreme weather patterns as well as weather services being extended by IMD for various users in Himalayan region. On this occasion, a compilation of the abstracts of all the experts talks to be delivered during the workshop was also released by the dignitaries. The workshop has received over 100 delegates from a wide range of academia, research institutes, industry partners as well as defence forces. During the 3 days event eminent speakers will deliver insightful talks spanning diverse domains aligned with the conference theme such as weather-climate modelling, forecasting and modification. A parallel industry exhibition was inaugurated by Guest of honour featuring cutting-edge products in areas such weather fields observations raging from Automatic Weather Stations to micro-radiometers.
