The over focus on protein is scary because the other important macro nutrients are often disregarded! People get so upset when I use terms like; meatballs, chicken, steak etc when talking about my plant based food 🙄 I understand that these names are tied to cultures, traditions and identity but as society changes through time we need to change our language to fit with it! Beany brothy cous cous bowl w/ @smolproducts 🧼 written recipe below 👇🏾 AD All of my recipes are designed to be easier on your body, the planet and using simpler ingredients and that’s exactly what smol offer to the world of cleaning 🤝🏾 Using their stain removal gel and non bio pods I can easily clean any messes I make on myself and their all purpose spray is my go to for the mess I make else where! 👇🏾ingredients👇🏾 -4 large tomatoes -3 cloves of garlic -1 shallot -1 carrot -1.5 tbsp dried mixed herbs -1 can cannelloni beans -150g dried cous cous -3 to 4 cups veg stock -handful of kale/parsley -3 tbsp nutritional yeast -big pinch of salt + pepper -olive oil, pepper and freshly chopped herbs for garnish 👇🏾method👇🏾 -cut the tomatoes in half then place in a oiled pan on a medium heat cut side down, cover and leave for 5-10 minutes to steam. -remove the skin, add the finely chopped onion, garlic and carrot then cook until it the mixture thickens and becomes dark. -add the beans, cous cous, nutritional yeast and vegetable stock then simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often. Towards the end add the finely chopped kale and parsley. Add more liquid if necessary. -serve topped with the garnishes and enjoy! #recipe #food #cooking #soup #beans

BALSAMIC, SOY + ORANGE LENTIL MEATBALLS w/ @kikkoman_europe 🤝🏾 written recipe below 👇🏾 AD People think you can’t get enough protein on a plant based diet and that there’s not enough flavour in the food BUT with the right mix of whole foods you can get plenty of protein and my go too to add deep flavours, is a splash of Kikkoman’s naturally brewed soy sauce! 👇🏾ingredients👇🏾 -1 can green lentils -1 can white beans -1 garlic cloves -1 small white onion -few twigs fresh thyme -few tbsp breadcrumbs -1 tbsp Kikkoman Soy Sauce -pinch of pepper -2 garlic cloves -juice of 2 oranges -2 tbsp balsamic vinegar -2 tbsp Kikkoman soy sauce -2 tbsp brown sugar -sprigs fresh thyme/rosemary -seeds, rocket + bread to serve 👇🏾method👇🏾 -blend/mash the lentils and beans then mix with the finely minced garlic, onion + fresh herbs, Kikkoman soy sauce and bread crumbs then combine into a smooth dough/paste. -shape into balls and place on a lined baking tray then brush with oil before baking until crispy. -fry the minced garlic for a few minutes then add the fresh herbs, balsamic, Kikkoman soy sauce and brown sugar then simmer for 5-10 minutes. -coat the balls in the sauce and serve them with a salad or with some bread! #kikkoman #soysauce
