✨Sardine pancakes suitable for babies 6 months and up (Note that eggs and fish are both top allergens, so if you’re offering them for the first time, it’s best to introduce them separately to your baby) Every time I share about sardines, the comments are full of ‘yuck’ and ‘I’d never serve that” 🙃 but here’s the thing… that’s YOUR opinion, not your baby’s. Babies don’t come with food biases, WE give them those. Sardines are one of the most nutritious foods you can offer as they’re packed with omega-3s, calcium, iron, protein. And if serving them whole feels like too much try these pancakes! ❤️Remember Our babies are only as adventurous as we allow them to be. 🐟Comment “sardines” and I’ll send you this recipe! This is an exclusive recipe inside my Kidfriendly Meals Community, your go-to for balanced meals without the overwhelm.
Our kids want something sweet 🍪 🍫 🍰 …so let‘s meet them there. But make it more filling with protein, healthy fats, and fiber. These energy balls come together in 5 minutes, no baking needed, and are naturally sweet with no added sugar. ❤️Comment “recipes” so you can make all of these!
if nobody told you your rice cooker could do this…let me 🍚🍤 hello rice cooker teriyaki shrimp Quick tip though 🙋🏻♀️order matters. Keep the shrimp in a single layer so it steams evenly. Move fast and close the lid so you don’t lose heat. Add the edamame, carrots, and sauce at the end. That teriyaki sauce is SO good!! you can go light or pour it on. 🍤Comment “shrimp” and I’ll send you the recipe This is an exclusive inside my KidFriendly Meals community—simple meals, weekly plans, and zero overthinking.
Can we talk about how underrated quinoa is for breakfast? Everyone uses it in salads and grain bowls, but no one’s really talking about quinoa porridge… and it’s such a missed opportunity. ✨It’s packed with more protein than oats and is actually a complete protein, meaning all nine essential amino acids in one bowl. Such an easy upgrade to make your breakfast more filling. 🙌Comment “quinoa” and I’ll send you the recipe!
Cookies don’t have to be “just a treat.” This is how I make them at home! no refined sugar, some with no added sugar, and a little boost of protein, healthy fats, and even veggies. 🍪Comment “cookies” and try all of these healthy cookies for toddlers
🙌This is what a balanced meal can look like for your baby. Think: something rich in iron, a fruit or veggie, and a high-energy food. ✨Want more simple baby meal ideas? Comment “baby food” and I’ll send you my tried-and-true recipes!
Hello baked salmon cakes! If shrimp 🍤 feels like a “maybe later” food, I get it. But as a pediatric dietitian, I want you to know that the research has shifted. We no longer recommend delaying allergens. In fact, early and repeated exposure is what helps the body recognize these foods as safe. So don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Start small. Keep offering. That’s what matters. 🍤Comment “shrimp” and I’ll send you this recipe
It’s so easy to feel stuck when they keep asking for the same food on repeat. 🙅🏻♀️But we don’t want to stay there. This is where the “variety game” comes in! Tiny, doable changes that build on what they already love. They love rice? Add a little cheese. They love cheese? Stir in some finely chopped broccoli. Will they pick it out? Maybe. And that’s okay. That’s still exposure. You have nothing to lose and the best thing that can happen is suddenly you’ve got a brand new go-to that isn’t just plain rice. 🍚 Comment ”rice“ and give this cheesy rice a try!
“Made with real fruit” doesn’t mean what you think it does. Most flavored yogurts still have a good amount of added sugar, especially the ones marketed for kids. It takes a couple minutes, and you can switch up the flavors based on what your kids already love. ✨Comment “yogurt” and add these easy flavored yogurts to your rotation
If your child loves soft, chewy textures, try these banana oatmeal bars! Start with banana, peanut butter, oats, and flaxseeds that’s your base. Then have fun customizing! I like adding carrots for an easy veggie boost, but you can mix in chocolate chips, dried fruit, nuts, shredded coconut…use what you have and what your kids love Healthy, budget friendly, and kid approved. The holy trinity of mom snacks 🙌 ✨Comment “snack” and I’ll send you the recipe!
