These snickerdoodles are thick, chewy, and oh so perfect 😍 we’re using rich European-style butter and only browning half to add a light toffee flavor without overpowering that classic snickerdoodle flavor. Almost half of my bakeware collection is thrifted! It’s the perfect place to start looking when you need to add something to your collection. I’m ALWAYS seeing: - Mixing bowls - Cupcake tins - Mini cupcake tins - Bundt pans - Cheesecake pans - Loaf pans - Baking sheets - Glass baking dishes - Pie dishes - Cookie cutters Material notes: Light colored aluminum is the best - and if it’s vintage it’s even better! Mirro is a brand I always look for. This material will give you the most even bake. However, I will say this is the most challenging material to find in good shape because once it’s washed in the dishwasher, it’s ruined. Dark metal pans heat up much faster which can really darken the outside of your dessert. However, I make exceptions for things like Oreo or other ground cookie crusts because it’s in the oven for such a short amount of time. Hence why I’m ok with the dark metal tart pan! Glass is best for no-bake desserts but it’s not a great conductor of heat. Opposite of dark metal pans, glass takes a long time to heat up but once it’s hot, it holds that heat for a long time. This can lead to uneven baking. Ceramic also has a similar effect, so I also use this material for no-bake recipes.
If I could give you just one baking tip on how to instantly improve your bakes, it would be to stop using dark metal pans! Dark metal pans will over bake your desserts. They’re the reason why your cookies burn on the bottom and the edges of your cakes are too dark. Light metal pans bake your desserts more evenly so you end up with the perfect bake every time 🫶🏻 Comment “pans” and I’ll send you the link to my go-to light metal baking sheets!
