Best way to lose fat is... Live like a fitness model. Obviously. But sometimes that isn't an option. Usually when: • you have kids • or run a business and work all the time That was Paul. He gained a bunch of weight up to an all time high of 350lb. Up to his eyeballs in work. 2 toddlers. Another on the way. Despite that, he's now down to 280 and counting. Lifting. Stronger. More energized. Here's how we did it.
Ever heard the story of the magical plumber? No, this isn’t a joke about my Italian heritage. It goes like this: A beautiful woman is singing along to music in the shower one day. Lathering her hair and body. In the next moment, her breath was taken away. She gasped as the water turned frigid in an instant. She got out, dried off and went to the hot water tank. No idea what to do with it, she called a repairman. So Mario showed up and took a good look at the tank. “Tsk tsk tsk, I’ve seen this before” Shaking his head side to side. Expecting an expensive repair, the woman let out a sigh. The man bent down and tapped the side of the tank with a tiny hammer. “That should do it” To the woman’s surprise, the tank clunked on and the water from the tap was hot again. The next day she received a bill in her inbox. “Water Tank Repairs - $500” Shocked, she replied angrily to the email: “HOW COULD YOU CHARGE $500?! All you did was tap it once. Send me an itemized invoice!” Sure enough, he wrote back with the invoice, now detailed by line. $2 - Hammer Blow $498 - Knowing where to hit The lessons here are: 1. Skills make the impossible seem easy. 2. What may seem simple, can be a game changer. If you’re struggling to get in shape, or find the time / energy to lose weight… Odds are good that it’s because you just don’t know what to do. Or where to start. But in reality, losing fat isn’t the same as fixing a water heater. You don’t need to know everything right now. Just get started, and watch everything start to fall into place. Worst case scenario, you fail forward. Do that for long enough, and you’ll succeed. That’s the secret. -Matteo @marra_strength
