Positioned as an event that would travel, Rare Shades debuted in 2018 at the Canepa Motorsport Museum near Monterey, California and subsequent shows have been held at a variety of different venues around the US and Canada. Rare Shades 7 again showed ambition in its venue, taking over the Wildflower Studios on 19th Avenue in Queens. There was no shortage of drama in the Porsche Sixt @carreracupdeutschland at @circuitzandvoort in the Netherlands: The seventh race was split into two parts after a race interruption lasting more than six hours on Saturday. After a collision involving three cars, from which all drivers emerged unharmed, repairs to the track barriers were required and race control decided to suspend the race. Porsche Junior @flynt.schuring (Schumacher CLRT) kept his composure best after the restart and secured victory on home soil. The 19-year-old Dutchman claimed victory ahead of @alexander.tauscher (D/Target) and @chester_kieffer (L/Schumacher CLRT), who finished second and third. “Four wins in a row is really fantastic. Benefitting from extensive upgrades to its suspension and aerodynamics, the 911 GT2 RS marked a 2.2-second improvement over the standard model when it lapped the same track on the same specification tyres back in 2019. Behind the wheel was Porsche brand ambassador and former factory racing driver @j.bergmeister, who said: “Even almost 10 years after its introduction, the power delivery of the twin-turbo flat-six engine is still thrilling. The suspension enhancements and the increased downforce enabled me to carry speed deep into the corners and accelerate early, giving me great confidence behind the wheel – which is also a benefit for regular drivers taking their own cars on the track.”
