This is the post I wish someone shared with me years ago. Microplastics have been found in human placenta. In breast milk. Before a baby even takes its first breath, the exposure has already started. BPA mimics estrogen and disrupts ovulation. Phthalates are linked to reduced fertility. And your toothbrush delivers 2.3 million microplastic particles per year through gum tissue that absorbs 10x faster than skin. I stopped brushing with plastic the week I found this out. It was the smallest swap and the one that hit the hardest once I understood what it meant. Save this for someone planning, expecting, or breastfeeding. They deserve to know.

168 chemicals before 9am. That is the average number of synthetic compounds a woman applies to her body through her morning routine before she even leaves the house. Moisturizer. Cleanser. Shampoo. Conditioner. Body wash. Deodorant. Makeup. Perfume. Each product adding to a daily chemical load that most women never think about because each individual product feels harmless on its own. 80% of beauty products on the market contain hormone-disrupting ingredients. Parabens that mimic estrogen. Phthalates hidden behind the word fragrance. Synthetic preservatives that accumulate in tissue over time. Ingredients that have been linked to hormonal imbalance, fertility concerns, and endocrine disruption in peer reviewed research. And your skin is not a barrier. It is an absorbing organ. Women absorb 5 pounds of chemicals through their skin every single year. Five pounds of synthetic compounds entering your bloodstream through the products you apply daily in the name of self care. I had no idea how heavy my routine actually was until I started reading every single label. The morning routine is supposed to be the part of your day that makes you feel good. It should not be quietly working against your hormones at the same time. You deserve products that are actually safe to put on your body. Start reading the back of the bottle 🫶

This one genuinely changed how I think about my weekly sauna sessions. I already loved the sauna for the skin benefits, the stress relief, the way it makes me feel completely reset after a hard week. But finding out that regular sauna use can reduce microplastic concentrations in your blood by up to 93% made it feel like the most important thing in my routine. Here is why it works. Sweating is one of your body's most powerful detox pathways. When your core temperature rises in the sauna your body pushes fluids through your skin to cool down. That sweat carries with it heavy metals, environmental toxins, and yes, microplastic particles that have accumulated in your blood and tissue. We are exposed to microplastics every single day through the food we eat, the water we drink, and the products we use. The sauna is one of the few tools that actively helps your body push them back out. If you are not already going regularly this is your sign to start. Even two to three sessions a week makes a measurable difference. Your body has the ability to fight back. Give it the tools to do it 🧖‍♀️

I used to wonder why my skin was inflamed, breaking out, and impossible to fix no matter what I put on it. I was using the right skincare. I was drinking water. I was getting sleep. But my skin kept fighting me from the inside and nobody could tell me why. Then I removed seed oils from my diet and everything changed within weeks. Here is what I learned. Seed oils, vegetable oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, are extracted using high heat and petroleum-based chemical solvents. By the time they reach your kitchen they are already oxidized and damaged. When you consume them they introduce an enormous amount of unstable polyunsaturated fats called linoleic acid into your body. Your skin cells are made of fat. Specifically the fat you eat. When your diet is high in linoleic acid from seed oils those unstable fats get incorporated directly into your cell membranes including the cells that make up your skin barrier. Unstable cell membranes mean a compromised skin barrier. A compromised skin barrier means inflammation, sensitivity, redness, acne, and an inability to retain moisture no matter how much you spend on serums and moisturizers. You cannot out-supplement a diet full of oxidized seed oils. You cannot out-moisturize it. You cannot treat it topically because the damage is happening at a cellular level from the inside out. I switched to grass-fed butter, tallow, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil. I removed seed oils from my kitchen completely. My skin is the clearest it has been in years. And I did not change a single thing in my skincare routine. The glow up started in my pantry not my bathroom cabinet. Save this if you needed to hear it today 🫶

I genuinely had no idea until I looked this up and now I cannot stop thinking about it. A single plastic toothbrush releases up to 6,000 microplastic particles every single time you brush. Every. Single. Time. Over the course of one year that adds up to 2.3 million microplastic particles going directly into your mouth, absorbed through your gum tissue, and entering your bloodstream. Your gums are not a barrier. They absorb compounds up to 10x faster than regular skin. So every morning and every night you are essentially delivering a dose of nylon plastic, BPA, and phthalates straight into your body through one of the most absorbent tissues you have. And then those particles travel. Microplastics have now been found in human blood, lung tissue, brain matter, and most recently inside prostate tumor samples. Researchers found that plastic accumulation in the brain runs 7 to 30 times higher than in the liver or kidneys. We have been brushing with plastic our entire lives and nobody ever questioned it. I switched to a natural bristle toothbrush months ago and I am genuinely never going back. No nylon. No microplastics shedding into my gums twice a day. Just natural materials that have been used for centuries before the plastic industry took over. It is one of the smallest swaps you can make but when you understand what is actually happening it feels like one of the most important ones. Save this and send it to someone who still uses a plastic toothbrush 🪥 Drop a 🐗 below if you have already made the switch.

A year ago I had no idea my bathroom was one of the most toxic rooms in my house. I thought I was being healthy. I was buying "clean" products, reading labels, doing everything right. But the more I researched, the more I realized the labels were designed to hide things, not reveal them. So I started removing things one by one. The plastic toothbrush went first. Did you know nylon bristles shed microplastics directly into your gums with every single brush? Your gums are one of the most absorbent tissues in your body. I couldn't unsee that. Then the conventional shampoo. Sulfates were stripping my scalp, silicones were coating my follicles with a plastic film, and synthetic fragrance was hiding phthalates that mess with your hormones. My hair was thinning and I was literally causing it every morning. The antiperspirant was next. Aluminum compounds absorbed directly into your bloodstream. Found in breast tumor tissue in multiple studies. Gone. Then the fluoride toothpaste, the plastic showerhead dosing me with chlorine and heavy metals, the synthetic body lotion I was slathering on after every shower. One by one the bathroom got cleaner. And honestly? My skin cleared up. My hair got thicker. My mornings feel different now. I'm not perfect and I didn't do it all at once. But every swap matters. Save this list and start with just one thing this week. Which one are you removing first? Drop it below 👇

10 things I stopped buying at the grocery store (and what I use instead) Once I started reading labels and researching what's actually in everyday products, I couldn't unsee it. Here's my full list: 1. Plastic water bottles — they leach microplastics into your water, especially in heat or sunlight. I switched to glass and stainless steel. 2. Store-bought sliced bread — most contain preservatives, dough conditioners banned in other countries, and hidden sugars. I buy sourdough from a local bakery now. Just flour, water, salt. 3. Vegetable and seed oils — canola, soybean, and "vegetable" oil are highly processed and loaded with inflammatory omega-6s. I cook with olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, or tallow. 4. Pre-cut fruit in plastic containers — the plastic packaging transfers chemicals into the food, especially with acidic fruits. I buy whole fruits loose and bring reusable bags. 5. Antiperspirant deodorant — contains aluminum compounds that block your sweat glands. Your body is designed to sweat. I switched to a natural deodorant with clean ingredients. 6. Flavored yogurt — some have 20+ grams of sugar per cup. That's basically candy. I use plain full-fat organic yogurt topped with fresh fruit and raw honey. 7. Teflon coated pans — non-stick coatings release PFAS (forever chemicals) when heated. These don't break down in your body. I only use cast iron and stainless steel now. 8. Plastic toothbrushes — they shed millions of microplastic particles into your mouth every single year. I switched to a boar bristle toothbrush. 9. Conventional sunscreen — many contain hormone-disrupting chemicals like oxybenzone that absorb through your skin. I use mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide instead. 10. Plastic cling wrap — chemicals leach directly into your food, especially when heated. Beeswax wraps and glass containers are my go-to now. I didn't make all these changes overnight. It started with one swap. Then another. Then it became a lifestyle. You don't have to be perfect. Just be informed. Save this for your next grocery run and share it with someone who needs to see it. Which one surprised you the most? Drop a number below.

This one hit me hard. I've spent years removing plastic from my home. Switched my toothbrush, my containers, my skincare, my kids' products. I check every label. I research every brand. I thought I was doing everything right. But the food we eat is already contaminated before it even reaches our kitchen. The soil it grows in is full of microplastics from plastic-coated seeds and plastic covers that farmers use to protect crops. Over time those plastics break down, leach into the soil, reduce crop quality, and introduce contaminants directly into the food system. So even when you're buying organic, eating whole foods, and cooking from scratch, the ingredients themselves may already carry microplastics from the ground they were grown in. That's the part nobody talks about. This is why I stopped thinking of clean living as just a household thing. I pay attention to where my food comes from, how it's grown, and what it's grown in. I support local farmers when I can. I ask questions most people don't think to ask. We can't control everything. But we can control what we allow into our daily routine and what we put in our bodies on purpose. Start where you can. Every small switch adds up. 💬 Did you know about this?

I get asked all the time: "Where do I even start with living healthier?" Here's my honest answer: Stop trying to change everything at once. That's the fastest way to burn out and go back to old habits. Instead, pick ONE thing this week. Just one. Maybe it's swapping your plastic water bottle for glass. Maybe it's buying organic for just one vegetable. Maybe it's finally throwing out that toxic cookware you've been ignoring. Small shifts. That's how real change happens. I didn't wake up one day living completely toxin-free. It took years of tiny, intentional choices that eventually became second nature. More veggies on my plate. Protein to keep me full and away from processed snacks. And honestly? Prioritizing rest and mental health just as much as what I eat. You don't need to be perfect. You just need to start. Your body is listening to every choice you make. What's ONE thing you're swapping this week? Tell me below 👇💚

She's here and I'm so excited 💚 I've been wanting to make the switch for a while now and my PRIMALS horse bristle toothbrush finally arrived. Here's the thing - I started learning about what plastic toothbrushes actually do and I couldn't ignore it anymore. Every time you brush with a plastic toothbrush, the bristles shed microplastics into your mouth. We're talking up to 88,000 tiny plastic particles per year that end up in your bloodstream. And those microplastics? They've been linked to hormone disruption. As women, our hormones control literally everything. Our mood. Our skin. Our cycle. Our energy. The last thing we need is more endocrine disruptors sneaking into our bodies through something as simple as brushing our teeth. So I switched to PRIMALS. Their horse bristle toothbrush is completely plastic-free. The bristles are made from real horse hair - super soft and gentle on your gums. No harsh nylon scratching up your mouth. No synthetic materials breaking down while you brush. Just a bamboo handle and natural bristles the way toothbrushes were made before plastic took over everything. And honestly? It feels so much better than any plastic toothbrush I've ever used. The softness is unreal. My gums have never felt happier. I love that I can do something as simple as brushing my teeth without worrying about what I'm putting into my body. It's one of those easy swaps that actually makes a difference. If you're trying to clean up your routine and reduce your toxic load, start with the stuff you use every single day. Your toothbrush is a perfect place to begin. PRIMALS made it so easy. Obsessed with this switch 💚

Your daily reminder to get off your phone and go outside ☀️ We’re spending 90% of our lives indoors now. Fluorescent lights, screens, recycled air, temperature controlled everything. And then we wonder why we’re anxious, tired, and vitamin D deficient. The sun is not your enemy. You literally need it to survive.→ Vitamin D production (most people are deficient) → Regulates your circadian rhythm so you sleep better → Boosts serotonin and mood → Supports hormone healthYes, don’t burn. But also stop hiding from the sun like it’s poison. Our ancestors lived outside. They didn’t have a sunscreen industry telling them the sun was dangerous. Morning sun. Afternoon sun. Get your feet in the sand. Move your body outside. This is the original human lifestyle and we’ve completely abandoned it 🌊
