In Iowa’s US corn belt, decades of intensive farming had depleted even the richest soils. 🌾 Kelly Garrett decided to rewrite that story. On his 7,000-acre farm, Kelly embraced nature-based solutions to restore the land. He reduced tillage, cut back on synthetic fertilizers, and focused on building healthier soil through minerals, microbes, and deep-rooted crops that help rebuild the ground while capturing carbon from the atmosphere. His efforts paid off: healthier soil, lower emissions, and a groundbreaking achievement as the first U.S. farmer to sell carbon credits. For Kelly, it’s not just about his farm—it’s about helping preserve one of the world’s most productive farming regions for future generations.
