I finally told myself “how about we cut the bicep curls in half and start training the areas you need to be strong in dummy.” Where does everyone hurt? Knees, hips, low back, shoulders. What does everyone train? Glutes, chest, biceps, abs. Make it make sense. Everyone wants to show how great their body looks…and I was there once too. How could this help? No chance it’s this simple. Both things I said before the 1 month trial of walking backwards everyday. Besides looking goofy to people you pass at the park, this is the lowest risk/highest reward movement for knee pain. #kneepainrelief #kneepain

Wish I knew this 10 years ago… Your body has one main goal…survival! It will not move at a speed that it knows it can’t stop. So what do you do? Train the muscles and connective tissue that’s responsible for stopping the arm. Start slow but build up to a heavy weight (much heavier than I’m showing). 10% of BW is the minimum standard. 15-20% if you want to throw 90+ and stay healthy for a long time. The posterior chain is neglected in our modern lifestyle and is predominantly weaker. Strong hamstrings, glutes, and spinal erectors will contribute to power generation and reduce likelihood of injury. Last but not least, the spinal engine. This was the main missing piece that was non existent when I trained to play baseball. But as always…common sense rules. Pitching is rotational. So why is the majority of our training linear with a braced core? If your training is not meeting or exceeding the demands of sport, the training won’t be that effective. #baseball #pitching #armcare
