Hooray!!! We’re nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award!! We submitted with our orchestra album, which was intentionally recorded with Calgarian and Albertan musicians at the @nmc_canada in Calgary by Calgary recording icons Graham Lessard and Eric Cinnamon. This album is a western Canadian creation, so this recognition is extra special! Thank you @breakoutwest !! And congratulations to the other nominees (special shoutout to Aretha for also repping AB!!) And thank you to everyone who made this possible including our engineers, the orchestra, Céline Peterson, @buckingjampalace (extra special thank you to Lisa Buck and Lorena Calderon), @afa.1991 , @canada.council , @factorcanada and all of our incredibly supportive friends and listeners! I wanted to do a shoot with @e.z.graphics - and she suggested something I’ve never really done before - a shoot of me just living my life at home. Anyone that’s been over has been subjected to me sharing all of my favorite things with them. Having Eva over was tons of fun because I got to tell her stories about all of the random stuff I’ve accumulated over the years - from the art I’ve picked up or commissioned, to my ever expanding record collection, to my most prized possession - my 1920s art deco tea set made in Paris that managed to survive what I’m assuming was a cross Atlantic journey to get to Toronto where I won it in an online auction! It’s small, but it’s mine, and I’m grateful to live in a place that feels like me. Thank you Eva for capturing me in my element 💗
