Meet this genuine 1986 Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 Group B rally car. Daniel from Avants (@pikerphoto) spoke with the car’s caretaker, Sean Edwards (@bird.sean), to learn more about its incredible history. Built by Audi in 1986, this car is the second evolution of the Sport quattro Group B machine. Its all-aluminum five-cylinder engine produces just over 500 horsepower and can launch it from 0–60 mph in under three seconds on gravel. After its factory racing career, this car was gifted to Audi legend Hannu Mikkola, who raced it in several regional rallies. In 1988, it was also used in the Race of Champions, where drivers from different motorsport disciplines competed to see who was the best. Mikkola kept the car for the rest of his life. It later joined Juha Kankkunen’s collection in Finland before recently being purchased by Steve Rimmer, founder and owner of @dirtfishrally. #Avants #DriveEverything
