I’ve always dreamed of seeing longboard dancing in the Olympics but never thought that one day I’ll be having the honor of introducing this sport that changed my life to over 300.000 spectators and over 1.5 billion viewers all over the world during the Olympics opening ceremony. It happened yesterday in my city and even with pouring rain and slippery playground, I enjoyed every second of it and will treasure this moment forever 🙏 Hey longboarders ! We’ve made history !! Let’s goooo 🥳❤️ Merci @paris2024 … et merci JD ! #jeuxolympiques #olympics #paris2024 #longboarddancing
Where you ride is just the backdrop. How you feel inside is the whole story. 📸 @sergiovillalbastudio

Longboarding didn’t just change my life, it completely redefined how I see the world. When I first stepped on a board, I was just looking for a way to stay active and creative, but what I found was a completely new language. It taught me how to find my own flow, how to turn frustration into creativity, and eventually, it opened the doors to everything I do today as a filmmaker and visual storyteller. For me, dancing on a board is about pushing boundaries, thinking outside the box, and just staying completely present in the moment through movement. It’s a feeling I’ll never get tired of sharing, and one I will always be grateful for 🙏🏼 #longboarddancing
it’s always been about how it feels, not just how it looks. Longboard dancing is kind of like a moving meditation for me. You find this sweet spot where your feet just know what to do, the mind goes completely quiet, and you’re just flowing with the pavement 💆🏻♂️ 📸 @amelie.virollet #longboarddancing
Who do you think won ? 🤔 #longboarddancing
If your legs feel like wooden blocks and every turn feels scary, you aren’t bad, you’re just tense. From my experience, Stiffness is definitely the enemy of balance. Here are 5 simple ways to unlock your body and find your flow on the board 👇🏼 1. Bend your knees. Keeping your legs straight locks your joints, so stay low to absorb the movement of the board. 2. Breathe out. Tension starts in your mind, so take a deep breath and relax your shoulders before you push off. 3. Move your hips. Longboard dancing doesn’t start in your feet. It starts in your hips, so let them lead you. 4. Shift your weight. Don’t stay stuck in the middle of the board, practice actively moving your weight from your toes to your heels. 5. Shake your arms. Let your arms move naturally to balance your weight instead of keeping them glued to your ribs. Hope this helps ✌🏻 #longboarddancing
Kids definitely learn FAST 😮💪 #longboarddancing
Off the grid. Un moment hors du temps. #longboarddancing
Before you start your journey, let’s debunk 3 of the biggest misconceptions surrounding the world of longboard dancing. 🤷🏻♂️« You need a skatepark to practice. » The Reality 👉🏼 Unlike traditional skateboarding where you’re hunting for ramps and bowls, longboard dancing is the ultimate « anywhere » sport. You don’t need a specialized park. In fact, most dancers prefer a simple piece of flat asphalt or a smooth empty driveway. It turns any ordinary sidewalk or basketball court into your personal playground. It’s all about working with the urban landscape as it is, making it one of the most accessible ways to ride. 🤷🏻♂️« It’s just walking on a board, how hard can it be? » The Reality👉🏼Because it looks so graceful and « chill, » people underestimate the physical toll. Spend thirty minutes practicing your « peter pans » or « line work, » and your quads and calves will be screaming. In reality, it’s a high-level game of balance and core strength. You’re performing footwork on a moving surface that’s only about 9 inches wide, all while maintaining momentum and style. It’s basically ballet or breakdancing on wheels. If your weight distribution is off by even a few millimeters, the board will fly out from under you. It takes months of muscle memory just to make it look « easy. » 🤷🏻♂️« You need to know how to skateboard before you try longboarding » The Reality👉🏼That is a total myth. While longboard dancing definitely draws inspiration from street skating, adapting technical moves to a larger deck, the entry point is completely different. You don’t need to master a kickflip or jump off stairs to start longboard dancing. In fact, many riders find it much more intuitive to start with the fluid, carving motions of dancing because a longboard is wider, more stable, and more forgiving than a street setup. #longboarddancing 🎥 @ethancochard
