Mike Stewart shares some insight into wave riding on a bodyboard. STEWARTS VIEW was shot in 1995-96 and not released at the time. Mattel Sports, which owned Morey bodyboards, was selling the bodyboard brand, so the film was shelved. Mike, using a heavy Milliken high-speed 16mm film camera in a custom water housing @waterhousingshawaii filmed the POV wave, back when it was very challenging to get those unique angles. Derek Hoffmann shot this film on 16mm, edited and produced it, and he and Mike traveled to some cool locations; it's primarily set in Hawaii. The storm Chase did not make it in this film; that's another story to tell. That's when Mike followed the same swell from Tahiti to Maui, to the Wedge, then to the Channel Islands, and finally to Alaska. Would you like to see that series one day? Let us know.
