Ran out of talent, maturity, strength and grip on this one. Here is what happened: I rode the Hardline before and had a @gopro video where I was going very fast, but did not have a good iPhone clip. With the pressure I put on myself to always deliver the best riding I can for me, my fans and partners, I was not happy with the clip I had gotten a few days prior. I went back on the Sunday. It was definitely more slippery. Realistically this is not a World Cup with a timing system and ranking. If I ride at 90% or 100% chances are no one but me would make a difference. @yoannbarelli was there and I told him the rock did not look very grippy so he decided to not push it. After doing some photos on top, I said:" nah I'll make that work, let's do it". The hike was long to the top and I was lazy so I did not do a slow attempt to test the grip and straight up sent it. I completely under estimated the traction causing me to go too fast and air the last bit. The compression before the drop was huge and I absolutely did not want to go OTB on it, so I preferred to bounce rather to get bucked. My right shoulder dropped a bit causing me to jump sideways and the impact was way too big to hold on. Super grateful for my protections doing a great job: @iamspecialzed Tactic helmet, @onealracing knee pads, @uswesports Race 2.0 bag. The bike still look new cheers to @ridewrap. I ended up with two small avulsion fractures and a big hematoma. That type of feature does not represent much challenge for me, but when you race down it, it changes everything. Long story short, don't rush things. Found this little line perfect to work on basic skills of body position. I always focus on my technique for better, faster and safer riding. On this move for example, I purposely land front wheel first so I get to absorb the impact with my arms first and then pass it to my legs and rear of the bike so I can pull back the front wheel quicker for the second drop. By doing that my suspensions have also more time to recover for the next obstacle.
