The first Queen of the Night tulips of the year are blooming now. Last season we added about 100 more to the yard, I can't wait to see them all bloom. Tulips are the epitome of delayed gratification... but so worth it 👌 xo

Ok, I know it's a heat wave and nobody wants to do chores! But if you have backyard hens, now is a great time to clean out that nasty old freezer-burnt zucchini from 2016 (just me?🤷‍♀️) and feed it to your girls to help keep them cool. Chickens love Veggie Popsicles and it can help lower their body temperature at least a little. I also like to turn the sprinkler on in their run, to help cool the ground. Of course I don't get the girls or their coop wet, because that's not kind. Happy International Woman's Day 💕 I'm taking a personal day today to do what I love the most - planting flowers 🥰 I'm loving how these modern spring planters are casting the coolest shadows against our new house paint.
