In a swift & daring night operation Indian Coast Guard in coordination with #ATS #Gujarat intercepted and seized a #Speedboat with two foreign nationals carrying 203 kg of suspected #Narcotics like substance. On being challenged by #ICG ship, the suspect boat attempted to flee across the notional International Boundary Line (IMBL), but was chased down and apprehended 188 km South West of Dwarka. The seized boat along with apprehended personnel has been brought to Porbandar for interrogation of crew and laboratory analysis of the substance. Disrupting the inimical intentions of the Maritime law violators, the joint operation with ATS Gujarat unequivocally affirms ICG’s commitment to NashaMuktBharat and CoastalSecurity.

Indian Coast Guard Regional HQ (A&N) conducted the 2nd #OPRC Level-2 Course at #PollutionResponseTeam (A&N), #SriVijayaPuram, from 09-13 Feb 2026. The course brought together #ICG personnel, #ANC components and key stakeholders to enhance trained manpower and strengthen operational preparedness for effective OilSpillResponse. An Area Level #PollutionResponse Exercise was conducted by Indian Coast Guard District HQs-5 at #AdaniPort, #Kattupalli on 12 Feb 26. The first delivery is scheduled for May 2026, boosting #ICG’s rapid response capabilities.

In line with GoI’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Ministry of Defence inks deal worth 2312 Cr with M/s HAL (TAD) #Kanpur on 12 Feb 26 for acquisition of 08 Dornier 228 aircraft along with Operational Role Equipment for Indian Coast Guard with 71.62% Indigenous Content under Buy (Indian) Category. The contract was signed by JS&AM(MS) and GM, HAL(TAD) Kanpur in presence of Defence Secretary and #DGICG. Equipped with indigenous Maritime Patrol Radar, Indigenous EO/IR sensors, modern glass cockpit and Integrated Mission Management System, these aircrafts will enhance Maritime Domain Awareness, SAR capability, Pollution Response and overall coastal monitoring and security operations of #ICG. To commemorate the 50th #ICGRaisingDay2026, Indian Coast Guard - #AssamRifles joint bike rally themed “Samudra se Parvat Tak” flagged off on 27 Jan 26 from #Haldia, #WestBengal. Promoting national integration and youth outreach, the rally spread awareness about the Armed Forces across Eastern and North-Eastern #India. Starting with 20 ICG riders and joined by AssamRifles at Shillong, the 2000 km, 14 day expedition culminated at PangsauPass, ArunachalPradesh on 09 Feb 26, symbolising inter-service camaraderie and unity.

On 06 Feb 26, Indian Coast Guard busted an International oil-smuggling racket in a meticulously coordinated sea–air operation. The syndicate exploited mid-sea transfers in international waters to move cheap oil from conflict ridden regions to motor tankers, evading duties owed to coastal states. Acting on tech enabled surveillance and data-pattern analysis, #ICG intercepted three suspect vessels approx 100 NM west of #Mumbai. Sustained rummaging, electronic data corroboration, and crew interrogation exposed the modus operandi and a global handler network. The vessels known to frequently change identity, are being escorted to #Mumbai for further legal action, reinforcing India’s role as a net provider of maritime security and guardian of the rules based international order. #MaritimeSecurity #WeProtect
