Not all pasta is created equal. 🍝 Some of these pastas may look almost identical, but there’s something you can’t even see on the label. Many are made with highly refined flour that loses nutrients during processing, then has synthetic vitamins added back through enrichment. That’s not the same as keeping the nutrients naturally intact. The good news? There are plenty of better options at Costco and almost every grocery store.
Healthy frozen finds at Sam’s Club 🙌 From better-for-you desserts and acai bowls to high-quality seafood, there are so many new finds worth adding to your cart. Norway shipped salmon to fuel their athletes. We handed out Doritos. Something isn’t adding up. When Norway’s national soccer team came to compete in the US, they didn’t stop at the concession stand. They brought salmon, cheese, and fruit. Real food chosen for one reason: performance. Meanwhile, at most US youth sports games, kids finish running their hearts out and get handed donuts, sports drinks, candy, chips, and cookies. These are the foods least likely to help their little bodies recover. Here’s what @iamjasyra, @meowmeix and I want parents to understand: food is not just a reward for a good game. Food is information. It’s recovery. It’s energy. It’s how muscles rebuild and immune systems stay strong. Elite athletes know this. Our kids deserve to know it too. Every snack is a chance to teach your child what food is actually for. Better options that are just as easy to grab: Water, mandarins, berries, bananas, cheese sticks, beef sticks, trail mix, or a real food smoothie pouch. Real food. Real recovery. Real fuel. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start seeing snacks differently. Save this post the next time it’s your turn to bring snacks. Tag a sports parent who needs to see this.
The healthiest fast food burger?? 🍔 It’s official, Steak ’n Shake converted all their meat to 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef. This actually blew my mind. Imagine if all fast food chains did this and what it would mean for American food, health, and farming? I also appreciate that their fries are now cooked in beef tallow. What do you think?
