President Droupadi Murmu witnessed the International Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The President said that International Fleet Review reflects unity, trust and respect among nations for maritime traditions. She expressed confidence that all the navies represented in this Fleet Review will collectively help the oceans thrive as gateways for growth, prosperity and overall well-being of the global community.

President Droupadi Murmu graced the opening of the Amrit Udyan Winter Annuals Edition 2026. Amrit Udyan will be open for public viewing from February 3 to March 31, 2026 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (last entry at 5.00 p.m.). The Udyan will remain closed on Mondays, which are maintenance days and on March 4 on account of Holi. The entry to the Garden is free of cost. Booking can be made only through online mode at https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.

The 77th Republic Day celebrations concluded with the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk, presided over by President Droupadi Murmu. Bands from the Armed Forces and the Central Armed Police Forces captivated the audience with remarkable performances that reflected the spirit of national unity and enduring valour of armed forces. The melodious tunes epitomised the nation’s rich cultural heritage and military traditions.
President Droupadi Murmu hosted ‘At Home’ reception on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Chief Guests of the Republic Day Celebration, President of the European Council Mr António Costa and President of the European Commission Ms Ursula von der Leyen, attended the reception. Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Former President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Chief Justice of India Shri Justice Surya Kant, Speaker Lok Sabha Shri Om Birla, Union Ministers, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and in Lok Sabha, eminent citizens who have made remarkable contributions in different fields and beneficiaries of various developmental programmes of the Government were also present on the occasion. The guests enjoyed the vibrant artistic and cultural elements as well as the cuisine of the North Eastern states of India.

The theme of this year’s Parade was the celebration of 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram. Kartavya Path was artistically adorned with paintings depicting the verses of Vande Mataram. The impressive parade stood as a fitting tribute to national unity, the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, India’s military strength, and rich cultural diversity. India’s unwavering resolve and remarkable journey towards Viksit Bharat were showcased through captivating performances, spectacular tableaux, and the powerful display of Operation Sindoor.
On the occasion of Republic Day 2026, President Droupadi Murmu confers India’s highest peacetime gallantry award, the Ashok Chakra, upon Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who made history as the first Indian to set foot on the International Space Station. Group Captain Shukla has been honoured for his exceptional courage and fearless resolve during the Axiom-4 mission.
