Instagram’s importance to marketers has been growing for years, and our 2026 data makes it impossible to ignore. In our annual survey of 840+ marketers, Instagram surged from 15% to 27% of marketers calling it their most important platform since 2021. And 56% plan to increase their Instagram organic activity in the next 12 months, more than any other platform we tracked. What’s driving that commitment? For a lot of marketers, it comes down to results. 34% of marketers in our survey ranked Instagram #1 for developing loyal fans, ahead of every other platform. The hidden cost of DIY AI education nobody talks about 👇 Every hour you spend testing tools that don’t pan out, watching tutorials that skim the surface, or rewriting AI output that doesn’t sound like you, that’s time with a real price tag. The AI Business Society gives marketers a better path: ✅ Expert-led training with full resource kits so you can implement without rewatching
✅ Rapid-fire lessons (5 to 15 min) for weeks when you barely have time to breathe
✅ Live skill-building sessions that go deep on specific workflows
✅ Weekly curation that tells you exactly what’s worth your attention
✅ A community of peers who are figuring this out alongside you Members have called it game-changing. One said the automation training alone was worth the whole year’s fee. 30-day money-back guarantee. Link in bio. What AI tool have you been meaning to actually learn but haven’t had the right resource for yet?  🧐-Jason

Do you wish AI could handle more than one task at a time? I used to go into Claude and give it one job. Write an email. Done. Next email. Done. It worked, but it was slow. Then I had this epiphany: “What if I batched a bunch of things and gave it everything at once?” So I tried it. I said, “You are a cart abandonment expert. Read these resources. Come up with a plan for a five-email sequence over seven days.” It came back with the plan. Then I said, “Write all five emails — but give me two versions of each one.” In minutes, I had this massive document with multiple iterations of every single email. Each one built on the one before it. I could mix and match: “I like version 1B here, 2A there. Change this, combine those.” In literally one sitting — maybe a third of the time it would’ve taken me — I had a complete email sequence ready to go. Here’s what made it work: → Give it a clear role (“You are an expert at cart abandonment sequences”) → Provide proper context (links to resources, landing pages, examples) → Assign a bigger mission (five emails, not one) → Ask for multiple versions so you can pick and combine the best parts Stop giving AI one task at a time. Start batching. You might be shocked how much you can get done in a single session. This is Thoughts from the Porch. Have you tried batching tasks with AI? “Just provide value and everything will work out.” That’s what I told my coach yesterday. He stopped me cold. He said, “Mike, there’s something more important than value. It’s trust.” And he’s right. We’ve all been told to focus on being known, being liked, being trusted. But in a world where AI slop is everywhere — where anyone can create content that sounds good but isn’t real — trust is the thing that actually matters. I was watching the Little House on the Prairie remake on Netflix last night with my wife. There’s this scene where Charles Ingalls meets a stranger named John Edwards. John pulls a gun on him. The next day, John shows up, apologizes, and offers to help build Charles’s house. Charles looks at him and says, “How can I ever trust you?” John’s answer? “Give me a shot.” That’s the frontier. But it’s also the internet right now. People are going to work with the people they know, like, and trust. And nothing builds trust faster than being real. Being transparent. Even pulling out a sticky note on camera because you forgot what you were going to say. Trust isn’t a strategy. It’s the whole game. This is Mike Thoughts from the Porch. What do you think — is trust the most important thing in business right now? Let me know in the comments 👇 #Trust #ContentMarketing #SocialMediaExaminer #MarketingTips

Are you frustrated with the results you're getting from AI? There's one thing I do every time that instantly makes them better. Here's what usually happens. You type this long, detailed prompt into ChatGPT or Claude or Gemini. The results come back totally off. You're frustrated. You start over. But instead of rewriting the whole thing, try this — go back to your original prompt, click the little edit pencil, and add five words at the end: "Ask me any questions." That's it. Here's why it works. AI is engineered to please. It goes through testing phases designed to give you the best first answer — not to ask you clarifying questions. But we're never as clear as we think we are. AI doesn't really know what we're trying to achieve unless we give it room to ask. When you give it permission to ask questions, it will — and the quality of your results goes way up. → Edit your original prompt instead of starting a new one → Add "Ask me any questions" or "Let me know if you have any questions" at the end → Answer its follow-ups, then watch the output improve Here's the kicker — this works for humans too. When you assign someone a task, ask them, "Do you have any questions?" You're giving them permission to get clarity. Most people want to get it right the first time. They just need that permission. Works for AI. Works for people. Try it today and let me know what happens in the comments 👇 #AITips #SocialMediaExaminer #AIforBusiness #MarketingTips

I didn’t think just saying who I’m for would actually move the needle. Boy, was I wrong. Here’s what happened. My video guy asked me to explain what makes Social Media Marketing World different. I said, “We’re for the small guys.” Simple as that. A couple days later, my coach said, “That message was a big deal — and your sales page doesn’t say it anywhere.” I pushed back. I told myself we talk to felt needs, and just stating who we’re for isn’t going to matter. So I ran a split test. Added “for small businesses” to the headline. It worked. Then I tweaked the next section. It got better. Next section. Better. Next section. Better again. What I started to realize is that in a world where everyone’s selling everything, people aren’t just looking to solve problems. They’re looking for identity. They want something that’s for them — not for everyone, but for them. The scary part? You repel everyone else. And I didn’t want to do that. I wanted everyone at my event. But the truth is, I wasn’t attracting the exact audience I actually wanted. Once I got specific, things got a lot better. → Define clearly who you’re for — even if it feels limiting → Run split tests on your positioning (I use convert.com) → Pair it with Microsoft Clarity to study the data → Pull screenshots into AI to help you analyze results This is Thoughts from the Porch. Are you chasing views, or are you chasing the right viewers? 🤔 Instagram’s new “Your Algorithm” feature lets you see and edit the topics you’re being categorized under. Easy to spiral into overthinking your content strategy because of it. Chelsea Peitz’s advice: don’t. If your niche isn’t showing up in the topic list, that doesn’t mean it’s too small. It means keep going. Humans are still the ones deciding to stop scrolling, not the algorithm. What’s one thing you know your audience needs help with today? 👋 -Jason

I’ve always been a writer. But here’s the thing about writing — it’s a slog. The editing, the rethinking, the second-guessing. I’ve done it my whole career. And there’s this other thing I’ve wanted to do for years — just share the kind of stuff that comes out in private conversations with friends. Little thoughts. Stories from business and life. But I never made time for it. Always had a reason to focus on something else. Then I turned on the camera and just started talking. Unedited. No script. And something shifted. When you write, you edit yourself into the ground. When you talk, you have to trust yourself. And that trust? It unlocks something. I batch-recorded three of these on a Saturday morning. It wasn’t hard. And honestly, I’m a little scared I won’t keep up with it — that I’ll find an excuse to stop. But I really believe my message is going to connect with some people out there. And I believe doing this is going to help me solidify dreams and thoughts I’ve had in the back of my mind for a long time. So here’s my encouragement to you: if people tell you, “You say some pretty good things one-on-one,” maybe it’s time to turn on the camera and trust yourself. That’s what I’m doing. I’ve been an entrepreneur since 1996. That’s 30 years of long hours, stress, and worrying about what’s coming next. For most of that time, I carried this weight — anxiety about tomorrow. What’s going to go wrong? How am I going to handle it? The mental load was constant. Then a couple of months ago, I really leaned into a verse I’d read a hundred times before. Matthew 6:34: “Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.” Simple, right? But when I actually started living it — just focusing on today — something shifted. Because here’s what I noticed: the thing that feels impossible today? You get through it. And when you do, it changes what tomorrow looks like. Every single time. I’m not saying the struggles disappeared. The struggles are real. Anybody who runs a business knows that. But I stopped carrying tomorrow’s problems on top of today’s. And that brought a peace I hadn’t felt in a long time. Focus on today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. This is Thoughts from the Porch. How do you deal with anxiety as an entrepreneur? #Half my staff wasn’t even reading our weekly email. I proved it. I had my executive assistant hide a line in the middle of the update: “Please respond if you got this email.” Only half the team replied. So we had a problem. The weekly update was too long, too dense, and people were skimming right past it. This week’s draft landed and it was really long. I knew it wasn’t going to work. So I pasted it into Claude and said, “Simplify it.” It did an okay job. I said, “Simplify it more.” Better. Then, “Simplify it even more.” This time it completely re-crafted the whole thing. Much easier to read. Then I got an idea: “Create a skill out of this.” I called my assistant — she’d never used Claude before — and told her to type “Create newsletter” and paste in the raw content. After about a minute, she was blown away. “Wow, this is really good!” I asked what was missing. She said, “An encouraging word at the top.” So I told her to type that in, and when she liked how it looked, to say “Update this skill.” She clicked the button, confirmed — and now she has a repeatable skill she can use every single week. → Paste your content into Claude and ask it to simplify → Keep pushing — “simplify more” gets better results → When you like the output, say “Create a skill” → Hand it to your team and let them run with it If you’ve never tried Claude, give it a shot. My assistant’s first time using it and she was absolutely gobsmacked. This is episode 3 of Mike Thoughts from the Porch. Have you built any skills like this? Survey closes Sunday. Here’s why it’s worth the few minutes. Marketers who’ve taken it in past years told us something unexpected: the questions themselves helped them spot gaps in their own AI usage. Not just “are you using AI,” but where, how, and whether it’s actually working. This year’s data shapes our annual AI marketing report, the one thousands of marketers use to benchmark where they stand. Last chance to have your answers included. (see link in bio) What’s one AI tool on your “meaning to try” list?  Tell us below. 👋 -Jason
