Introducing our final cover star of the spring issue of HIGHSNOBIETY, @kaytranada. Kay is the type of artist that just gets you off your feet, whose beats take you through the movement. His success has amounted to Grammys, collaborations with artists such as @kaliuchis, and a change to the whole electronic scene. What comes as a surprise is that it was all a “happy accident,” as the artist puts it. Kay’s real passion lay in the creation of dark and moody sample-driven hip-hop. Montreal shit, as he so succinctly put it — and the very music he grew up with. We spoke to Kaytranda about his journey, and how he’s ready to go back to his roots and burrow into the underground with plans to drop “Mixtapes, beat tapes, EPs.” Kaytranada will be here: tinkering, listening, conjuring something unlike anything that came before. Our second cover star on the spring issue of HIGHSNOBIETY, @taliaryder is the type of person that doesn’t just settle for being “Princess,” she wants to be “King.” At 23, Talia Ryder exists in a rare in-between. Recognizable, but not overexposed. In demand, but still choosing carefully. She moves between fashion, film, and dance without settling into any one identity, resisting the kind of shorthand that flattens artists into trends. “I want to keep building, to keep working, to make things that actually last,” Ryder states. It’s clear that Ryder is one of those shapeshifting multihyphenates — dancer, actress, director, singer, model, occasional painter — who fuels the furnace of New York’s downtown arts scene. Professional skateboarding is an insular world, and the first of our three cover stars on the spring issue of HIGHSNOBIETY is one of the best-known virtuosos of the sport. Skateboarding went from punk kid subculture to mainstream vehicle of stardom and sponsorships in the past 10 years, with @sageelsesser at the forefront. That was then. Elsesser is now 29, but he seems older. His primary focus is his career as a musician under the name Navy Blue.If you meet him and talk with him and are patient, pushing past his initial blush of shyness, Elsesser will tell you about his journey from skateboarding to recording 10 albums and back again. He’ll come alive not just as a face in a Supreme lookbook or a character in the background of an Odd Future video or supermodel Paloma Elsesser’s brother, although he is all those things. “As soon as things get hot, everyone wants a piece,” says William Strobeck about Elsesser’s part played in the skate movement. Read more about how Elsesser has re-written the skate playbook and turned it into his venture into music at the link in bio. It’s @kelela’s world and we’re just living in it. “My everyday reality is lit,” says the artist in our latest cover story. We captured the movement that keeps Kelela going. Read the full story in our app.
Chat, who tryna f*ck, smoke blunts, and listen to @kelela? We sat down with the artist behind one of music’s most devoted fanbases to see what the internet had to say about her catalog, which continues to resonate across generations, and her upcoming tour, which is shaping up to feel more like a family reunion. @kelela tells us, “I’d rather not do anything than do something half a**ed.” On the set of her Highsnobiety Music Week cover shoot, presented by @levis, she reflects on taking healthy risks, lyrics that she lives by, and the importance of sticking to the vision. @kelela has spent the past decade reshaping electronic R&B. Now, she’s picking up the guitar. “My ultimate dream is riffs in the club,” the artist explains. On New Avatar, Kelela pulls from everyone from Joni Mitchell and Deftones to Linkin Park without sounding like anyone but herself. The album trades polish for grit, pairing distorted guitars with club bangers while continuing her longrunning exploration of identity, power, and joy — a reminder that she’s always been a few steps ahead. This story is presented by @levis as part of Highsnobiety Music Week. Justin Jefferson’s @oakley era is only getting stronger. @arsenal finally did it. After 22 years, the Premier League trophy is back in North London, which gave @adidas a pretty big task: designing the club’s first kits as reigning champions. The away shirt revives the iconic bruised banana pattern in navy and yellow, while the home kit carries its collar detailing through to the shorts. @wrightyofficial verdict? “Once again, adidas have nailed it.” To mark the launch, "Arsenal By Design" goes behind the making of the historic kits. We’re exclusively debuting the trailer and speaking with Wrighty about Arsenal history, styling football shirts, and why the bruised banana still means so much.
Mark Gonzales is keeping skating alive, no matter what age you are. Captured during @adidasy3 ‘s presentation at the Palais d’Iéna earlier this year, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto tapped Mark Gonzales to bring their Fall/Winter 2026 collection to life. We sat down with the legendary skater to reminisce on his early skate days and talk about the culture’s style influence today. Video by: @byeemj
Post-win energy, but make it chic, moody, and at everyone’s favorite Hi-Fi bar. @labseries transformed @eavesdropnyc for ‘Game Face After Dark,’ where Knicks point guard @jordanclarksons carried post-win energy into a night of light bits, drinks, and plenty of picture-worthy moments, celebrating the importance of ritual. DJ Saji Abude set the tone behind the decks, and guests settled into a night of great music, thoughtful details, and the routines that define performance beyond the court. Inside Mario Conte’s studio, the past is helping shape what comes next. The @thrift_con co-founder opens up his personal archive of vintage clothing, rare objects, and reference pieces used in his work with @KidSuper. He also reflects on ThriftCon’s larger mission: traveling from city to city, introducing young people to secondhand culture, and watching the next generation find their own way through it.
